Boys can and do produce A* quality artwork. Work can be highly expressive, intuitive and impulsive. This resource provides a page by page slideshow of an A* graded GCSE Art sketchbook by a boy. The nature of the work is fully aligned to the new GCSE Art specification. Emphasis is placed on observational drawing, critical and contextual referencing, media experimentation and idea development. Work is bold and exciting. The sketchbook also shows effective, intelligent annotation. It is NOT neat and tidy .... and it doesn't need to be.
This is a useful resource for showing male students what they should be aiming for. It is equally suitable for female students. It can also be used to provide inspiration for a wide range of drawing styles.

Show students of all ages how to produce a line drawing of a tree. This slideshow provides 68 step by step drawings. The drawing is shown building up, line by line. The beauty of this is that you can back track if a student gets stuck .... something that isn't possible if you are demonstrating by drawing on paper.
The slideshow is suitable for all ages because students can refine and develop the basic structure of the tree in line with their own ability.
